INDIANAPOLIS — One person has died in a shooting on the south side of Indianapolis Friday afternoon.
Police say at least three people were shot on Sandra Lane, near Madison and Troy avenues, around 2 p.m. Friday. Two male victims were found at the scene of the shooting. One of the victims has died from his injuries, the other was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
A vehicle that fled the scene was located near Southport Road and Emerson Avenue and the driver pulled over for police after a brief pursuit. A third victim of the shooting was found inside the vehicle and was also taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police are investigating if another person who went to a hospital on the south side with a gunshot wound was also involved in the shooting.
Police said a child was inside the apartment at the time of the shooting, but was unharmed.
