CLARK COUNTY, Indiana — A woman accused of defrauding customers while running a Louisville-based pool construction company with her husband was in court Monday to admit guilt.
Tracy Davenport pleaded guilty to corrupt business practices and multiple theft charges.
Davenport, and her husband Matthew, are accused of being paid to install pools they never finished building.
According to court documents, Tracy Davenport was out on bond but rearrested last October in New Jersey after officers found more than 170 pounds of marijuana in her truck.
The Davenports, who own Davenport Extreme Pools and Spa, were charged last year in Clark and Floyd counties after multiple victims told Indiana State Police they lost thousands of dollars.
The cases involved victims paying the Davenports large down payments to construct private inground pools that were never built. ISP said Davenport Extreme Pools filed for bankruptcy shortly after signing contracts and receiving the payments.
In total, the victims paid nearly $246,000 to Davenport Extreme Pools and Spas during 2021 and 2022. Construction work had yet to begin in any case, police said last year.
Tracey Davenport will be sentenced on Dec. 30 at 1:30 p.m.
