INDIANAPOLIS — A woman on Indianapolis' east side said she was shot after dropping her husband off at work early Wednesday morning.
The driver's seat of Desiree Woodson's van is now stained with blood, while pieces of glass cover her floor mat.
"I didn't bother you, I didn't do anything to you, didn't say anything to you. You guys could have took my life for no reason at all," Woodson said.
She said a person in a red pickup shot at her multiple times on Mitthoefer Road, between 10th and 16th streets, around 4 a.m. Aug. 7.
"There was the one single one on 16th Street. There was a single one here on 10th Street, and then when I was riding by them, I heard about four or five shots," Woodson said.
One of the bullets left a hole in the back of her van, while another shattered her back window. Woodson said some of the gunfire came flying through her passenger side window, hitting her in the hand and blowing out her driver's side window.
"It was two men, and I'm a female by myself. Like, what did you really think I was going to do to you? And I'm in the car driving away from you, so why are you shooting at me? I don't know. It's crazy," Woodson said.
Woodson said she wasn't able to get a good look at the license plate.
13News reached out to IMPD about the incident and was told it is under investigation.
