IMPD investigating after teenager shot on Indy's east side

Police said the shooting happened on John Marshall Drive around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

INDIANAPOLIS — A teenager is recovering after being shot in the shoulder Tuesday afternoon.

Police said they responded to a report of a person shot in the 1000 block of John Marshall Drive, near East 38th Street and North Mitthoefer Road, shortly before 4 p.m.

Medics transported the 15-year-old victim to Riley Hospital for Children. Police said the teenager was alert and breathing prior to transport. 

Police have not released any suspect information or further details on what led to the shooting.
