SWAT team captures suspected armed kidnapper inside Indianapolis business

INDIANAPOLIS — A 37-year-old Indianapolis man has been arrested on armed robbery and kidnapping warrants in Indianapolis Thursday night.

IMPD says the suspect was inside a business near the 9800 block of East 21st Street, near Mitthoefer Road and Warren Central High School, around 8:30 p.m. Nov. 14.

When detectives found him, they brought in the IMPD SWAT team to help them take him into custody.

Police arrested the man on multiple warrants, including two counts of armed robbery and unlawful carrying of a handgun, and one count each of armed kidnapping, battery with a deadly weapon and pointing a firearm at another.

The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make the final charging decision.
