INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The man accused of murdering a Southport police officer says he can't get a fair trial in Marion County.

Attorneys for Jason Brown asked to move his trial elsewhere Thursday, because of all the publicity about the shootings.

They specifically cited public hostility toward Brown and public outrage over the shooting that could prejudice jurors.

Brown is accused of shooting Southport Police Lt. Aaron Allan as the officer was trying to help Brown out of his car following a high-speed chase. Allan later died at the hospital.
