INDIANAPOLIS — A 30-year-old man has been arrested for his alleged role in a west Indianapolis shooting that injured another man early Sunday.
Around 5 a.m. March 3, IMPD officers responded to Eskenazi Hospital near downtown Indianapolis for a report of a walk-in person shot. Officers found the male victim who police described as "awake and breathing."
In an update later that day, an IMPD spokesperson said detectives had learned the shooting happened in the 5100 block of West Caven Street, near South Lynhurst Drive and South Minnesota Street. A 30-year-old man was arrested on preliminary charges of battery resulting in injury and battery with a deadly weapon, police said.
No further information on the circumstances of the shooting has been shared by IMPD.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make final charging decisions in the case.
