BOONE COUNTY, Ind. — A student at Western Boone Junior-Senior High School could face criminal charges after an investigation revealed threats being made toward students and staff at the school.

According to a release from the Boone County Sheriff's Office, on Oct. 16 the administration at Western Boone informed the BCSO about concerning internet searches and a document found on a student's computer. The document allegedly contained threats directed toward specific students and staff members at the high school.

School administration reportedly informed parents and teachers of the findings and took "appropriate disciplinary action."

The school resource officer filed an official report and police say the student could face criminal charges pending the results of the investigation. The BCSO says there is no current threat to the school, staff, students or community members. The investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided as they come available.
