RUSHVILLE, Ind. (WTHR) - A student in Rush County has been arrested for making a threat against a high school.
Rush County Schools Superintendent Matt Vance sent a letter to families and staff members about the threat, which was made verbally against Rush Consolidated High School. Administrators learned about the threat at the end of the school day on Wednesday and Vance says police identified and arrested the student responsible.
The student was taken to a juvenile detention facility.
"School safety is extremely important; all threats to our students and staff are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. Therefore, we will have extra security at all of our schools on Thursday," Vance wrote, while noting the incident is believed to be an isolated one.
