State police receive a thousand tips since new Delphi evidence release

About a thousand tips have come in to Indiana State Police since the release of new information Monday in the Delphi murders investigation.

DELPHI, Ind. (WTHR) — About a thousand tips have come in to Indiana State Police since the release of new information Monday in the Delphi murders investigation.

Investigators are now going through those tips.

It comes after Monday's release of a new suspect sketch and audio and video from Libby German's cell phone.

Investigators believe the suspect is either from Delphi, works there or used to and still visits the area regularly. Delphi is a town of roughly 3,000 people.

Police believe the suspect is between the ages of 18 and 40 and may appear younger than he actually is.

Police also released video of the suspect walking across the railway bridge toward Libby and Abby along with an extended clip of him talking to the girls.

13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old German went missing February 13, 2017. Their bodies were found the next day.

Police are still asking for tips. They should be sent to Abbyandlibbytip@cacoshrf.com.

Police request that tips include the following information:

  • Suspect's name
  • Date of birth or approximate age
  • Physical description including height, weight, hair color, eye color
  • Address or location including city
  • Vehicle information including year, make, model, color
  • Specific reason for the tip. Why could they be the suspect?
  • Motivation for the crime
  • Connection to Delphi, IN

Police say you don't need to have all of those pieces to send a tip, but do ask you include as many details as you can.
