SPEEDWAY, Indiana — Police in Speedway are investigating after a person was injured in a shooting at an apartment complex early Monday.
Around 1:15 a.m. July 8, Speedway Police Department officers responded to the 2000 block of Runaway Bay Drive, near West 21st Street and Cunningham Road, for a report of shots fired. Officers found shell casings in the street and apartment buildings that had been struck by gunfire.
One person injured in the shooting was described by a department spokesperson as "stable" when transported to Eskenazi Hospital.
Police have not said if any suspect(s) had been identified, but the spokesperson said "there is no immediate danger to the community" in connection with the incident.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
