SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The South Bend Police Department is investigating one of its own officers after he was arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation.
According to a social media post by the SBPD, Rico Butler was arrested and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail just after midnight March 2.
The post did not give details about the investigation, but did reveal that Butler was expected to be charged with two counts of child seduction.
Formal charges were filed Monday, March 4.
SBPD said Butler joined the department in December 2022 but has since been relieved of duty, pending further investigation.
