INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating a shooting that sent one person to a hospital Tuesday evening.
It happened around 9:20 p.m. in the 8600 block of Camby Road, which is just north of Camby on the southwest side of Indianapolis.
Investigators say "some type of gun sale" was taking place when a disturbance broke out. During that disturbance, shots were fired and an adult male was struck by gunfire.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, though his condition was upgraded a short time later at the hospital.
Police said the shooting is a reminder that online transactions should be completed in a well-lit area, preferably during the daytime, with other people around. Sales can also be completed at IMPD's Southeast District headquarters at 1150 S. Shelby St. in Fountain Square. An IMPD spokesperson said that location is covered by cameras for added security.
