INDIANAPOLIS — Police are looking for the person responsible for a deadly stabbing that happened over the weekend in Indianapolis.
Alexis Gossett, 22, was killed on the city's west side, near 10th Street and Girls School Road, early Saturday morning, Aug. 24.
"Alexis was a very outgoing person," Nahleah Griffin said. "She was the highlight to everybody's day."
Griffin said the two had been friends since high school. She described Gossett as being a light in her life. Since learning of the murder, Griffin said life hasn't seemed as bright.
"There will never be another Alexis, and nobody will be able to match the energy I had with her and other people have had and we've had and her family has. Nobody will be able to match that energy again," Griffin said.
As for who stabbed Gossett, Griffin said she isn't exactly sure, but that the time will come for them to pay the price. In the meantime, Griffin said she's going to remember all the good times she had with Gossett.
"She was the biggest sweetheart you would have ever met," Griffin said. "Always spreading positivity, always spreading advice, exchanging life. Like, she was everything."
Police told 13News they released a person detained at the scene the night of the stabbing and that no one has been arrested in the case.
