MIAMI — Rap star Travis Scott was arrested for trespassing and disorderly intoxication in South Florida, according to online jail records.
The Miami Beach Police Department detained the 33-year-old Scott after officers were called to reports of people fighting on a yacht, according to BBC News, citing an arrest report.
Scott, who was booked into Miami Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation Center under his government name "Jacques Webster," faces charges of trespassing on property after being given a warning and disorderly intoxication.
Officers reportedly stated Scott smelled of alcohol and was yelling obscenities at the people on the yacht while being escorted away. He later attempted to get back on the vessel despite warnings from police, the report said.
Police said the rapper was "erratic" and disturbing the public, according to the BBC. He reportedly admitted that he had been drinking and said, "It's Miami."
Scott was booked around 4:20 a.m. Thursday and has submitted a $650 bond. He was expected to be released later today, according to the Miami Herald.
In the hours following his arrest, Scott posted on X, "Lol."
The final remaining wrongful death lawsuit filed after 10 people were killed during a crowd crush at the 2021 Astroworld music festival was settled in late May, according to The Associated Press.
Jury selection in the lawsuit filed by the family of 9-year-old Ezra Blount, the youngest person killed during the concert by rapper Scott, was set to go to trial later in the fall. Her family sued Scott, festival promoter Live Nation and others connected to the event.
