INDIANAPOLIS — Officers from the Indiana State Capitol Police are investigating a string of vehicle vandalization incidents they say happened on Friday Feb. 2 in a parking garage off Washington Street in downtown Indianapolis.
Officers received reports of more than 50 vehicles being spray painted while parked in the garage.
On Tuesday, 13News spotted several damaged vehicles inside the garage.
"I was like, wow. It's hard to believe it would happen in this garage that's always secure," said Tonia Creech.
Creech worked from home the day it happened. Her vehicle is safe.
The suspect was captured on surveillance photos. The woman is seen wearing a black and white sweater, white knit hat, has long black hair and appears to be holding a spray can.
The suspect also reportedly targeted vehicles with handicap parking tags.
13News spotted one vehicle that had been sprayed on the driver and passenger side and the hood.
Creech said the damage can be a financial blow.
"I'd be very upset. Very upset. Because everybody works hard for what they have and for a vehicle to be vandalized like that ... that's just horrible," she said.
Creech is hoping someone recognizes the woman in the photos and comes forward.
If you or someone you know can help identify the person in those photos, call the Indiana State Capitol Police at 317-899-8577. People can also call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477 or (TIPS).
