Kokomo police investigating after 3 people shot New Year's Eve morning

KOKOMO, Ind. — The Kokomo Police Department (KPD) is investigating after three people were injured in a shooting early Sunday morning.

Just after 4:30 a.m. Dec. 31, officers responded to a report of the shooting near North Locke and East Madison streets. When police arrived, they found a 42-year-old man who had been shot, and was transported to a local hospital for his injuries.

Two other shooting victims, a 32-year-old woman and 30-year-old man, later arrived at different hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries from the same incident.

Detectives used a search warrant for a house in the 700 block of North Locke Street and found three people inside, along with several rifles and handguns concealed. Some of the evidence detectives found is connected to the shooting, according to police.
