INDIANAPOLIS — A man is dead after a shooting on Indianapolis' north side Friday night.
IMPD Northwest District officers were dispatched to the 7700 block of Kenworthy Drive, which is southwest of 79th Street and Harcourt Road, on a report of a person shot just before 8 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a man shot inside of a vehicle. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
On Sept. 24, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 25-year-old Francisco Cruz Hernandez.
An IMPD spokesperson told 13News the vehicle that the victim was driving struck a nearby apartment building, but no one inside the building was injured.
Investigators are still on the scene, interviewing possible witnesses, but police said there is no information about a possible suspect or motive at this time.
