INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a 15-year-old boy was killed in a shooting Saturday morning on the east side of Indianapolis.
It happened shortly after 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 on East 21st Street and North Emerson Avenue.
A police department spokesperson said dispatchers got a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a person with an apparent gunshot wound inside of a car.
The victim was in critical condition when they were taken to a local hospital, but IMPD said they died a short time later.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the deceased as 15-year-old Edwin Simon-Osorio.
Police haven't said whether they have identified a suspect, nor whether a motive has been determined.
