INDIANAPOLIS — A shooting late Friday night on Indy's near north side left one person dead, police said.
An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson said officers were called to the area of the 200 block of East 38th Street, near North Meridian Street, around 11:30 p.m. Feb. 9 on a report of a shooting. When police arrived, they found a person who had been shot.
The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition but later died, police said early Saturday.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 31-year-old William Benhart Ryan.
