BLOOMINGTON, Indiana — A man was arrested on a preliminary murder charge for his alleged role in the deadly shooting of a woman in Monroe County early Saturday.
Around 1:30 a.m. Nov. 4, deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office responded to the 5900 block of East State Road 45, near the community of New Unionville, for an unknown disturbance.
Officers found a woman, identified by the Monroe County Coroner's Office as 48-year-old Tara Langley, of Bloomington, with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff's office said they found an "AR-15-style rifle, and a civilian-style stun gun/tazer" near the woman's body.
Neighbors told police that the people who live at the home often fight, the sheriff's office said.
A 34-year-old man from Bloomington was arrested and later transported to the Monroe County Correctional Center on a preliminary murder charge.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
An autopsy for Langley is scheduled for Nov. 6 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
