INDIANAPOLIS — Police arrested three minors for an alleged carjacking on Indy's near north side early Tuesday.

IMPD officers were dispatched to a gas station in the 3200 block of North Central Avenue, near East 32nd Street, for a carjacking that happened around 1:30 a.m. Oct. 15.

Police said the victim told them five suspects walked up to him, and two were armed with guns and three were wearing masks. One of the suspects allegedly stole the victim’s driver’s license, cellphone and $100 in cash.

IMPD said the suspects then drove away in the victim's vehicle. The victim of the carjacking wasn't harmed.

Less than an hour later, officers said they found the stolen vehicle in the 3100 block of Meadows Drive, near 38th Street and North Keystone Avenue, and saw five males leaving the apartment complex.

Police said when they walked toward the suspects to ask them some questions, the suspects ran.

Three of the five suspects were taken into custody and arrested. IMPD said one of the suspects arrested had the victim’s driver’s license in his pocket, and $800 in cash was found in the vehicle.

The carjacked vehicle was returned to the victim, police said.

IMPD said they are actively searching for the other two suspects.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
