INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a man was killed in a shooting on Indianapolis' near east side early Wednesday.
Around 6:30 a.m. April 3, officers responded to the 800 block of North Lasalle Street, near East 10th and North Rural streets, for a report of a person shot.
Officers located a man inside a house with an apparent gunshot wound(s) who was pronounced dead at the scene, an IMPD spokesperson said.
On April 4, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the man as 31-year-old Jonathan D. Hill Jr.
The spokesperson said it's preliminarily believed the shooting happened inside the home during a disturbance.
Homicide detectives are now working to determine the circumstances that led up to the incident, and police are asking anyone in the neighborhood with information to speak with investigators at the scene.
"We want answers. We want to give our community answers about what took place," IMPD public information officer Samone Burris said.
