INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a man was killed in an apparent hit-and-run crash on Indianapolis' northeast side early Thursday.
Officers responded around 1:30 a.m. May 2 to the 2500 block of East 38th Street, just east of North Keystone Avenue, for a report of a person down.
"(A) male was unfortunately pronounced deceased, and this is currently being treated as a hit and run investigation," an IMPD spokesperson said in statement to 13News.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 42-year-old Dewayne Lamar Hill.
The department is asking anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have video of the incident to contact IMPD crash investigators at 317-327-6549 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
East 38th Street was blocked in the area for several hours Thursday morning.
