SPEEDWAY, Ind. — A 17-year-old male was fatally shot early Sunday morning in Speedway.
Speedway Police Department officers responded to the area of 22nd and Auburn streets just after 2 a.m. Nov. 12 on reports of shots fired.
The investigation led officials to the 5000 block of West 22nd Street, where a teenager was found shot and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the deceased as 17-year-old Caiden Clements.
Speedway police eventually arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the shooting.
“I understand someone got shot. It makes me sad we can’t figure out how to have a dispute or agree to disagree without using weapons,” neighbor Tom Smith said.
According to Speedway police, there is no immediate danger to the area, and the investigation is ongoing.
