Person critically wounded in southwest Indianapolis shooting

Robbery detectives are investigating the incident, which occurred near the Hendricks County line.

INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating a shooting that left one person critically wounded on the far southwest side of Indianapolis Monday evening.

The shooting was reported around 7:15 p.m. Nov. 27 in the 8400 block of Windfall Lane, near State Road 67 and Heartland Boulevard. Deputies with the Hendricks County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene, where they found a victim who had apparently been shot.

The address where the victim was found comes back to the Heartland Crossing shopping center.

The victim was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, according to IMPD.

Investigators believe the shooting may have occurred in the 8400 block of Becks Mill Lane, about a mile away from where the victim was found. That address is in Indianapolis, within the jurisdiction of IMPD.

Detectives from IMPD's robbery division are investigating the incident.
