Person critically injured in shooting on Indy's near west side

The shooting was reported around 1:15 a.m. Monday in the 3000 block of West Michigan Street, a few blocks east of North Tibbs Avenue.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a person was critically injured in a shooting on Indianapolis' near west side early Monday.

The shooting was reported around 1:15 a.m. Aug. 5 in the 3000 block of West Michigan Street, a few blocks east of North Tibbs Avenue.

Responding officers located a victim who had been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, an IMPD spokesperson said in a statement.

Additional information on the circumstances of the shooting, including if any suspect(s) have been identified, has not been shared by police.
