Person critically injured in downtown Indianapolis shooting; IMPD seeking suspect

Officers responded to the 700 block of North Pennsylvania Street around 9:45 a.m. Thursday.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a shooting that critically injured a person in downtown Indianapolis Thursday morning.

Around 9:45 a.m. Nov. 23, officers responded to the 700 block of North Pennsylvania Street for a report of a person shot.

They located a man nearby in the 700 block of Talbott Street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, police said.

Shortly after, IMPD said two people had been detained. 

Thursday afternoon, the department IMPD then asked for the public’s assistance is locating 27-year-old Tyrell Montgomery, who they said is wanted for his alleged role in the shooting.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately and not make contact with him. IMPD identified him as the suspect in the shooting and said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
