INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run crash on Indianapolis' east side early Friday.
Shortly after 3:15 a.m. Feb. 9, officers responded to the intersection of English and South Emerson avenues for a report of a pedestrian struck.
Nearby, they located a female who had been struck, who was taken to a local hospital. Police at the scene did not have an update on her condition early Friday, but told 13News the driver of the striking car fled the scene, and officers are working to determine exactly where the incident happened.
All northbound lanes of South Emerson Avenue were blocked near English Avenue for roughly an hour as officers investigated, but have since reopened.
