INDIANAPOLIS — A woman was killed Monday night in a shooting on the far east side of Indianapolis.
The shooting happened on Osceola Lane, near East 30th Street between Mitthoefer and German Church roads shortly before 10 p.m. Oct. 24. Officers found a woman in critical condition in a car at the scene, but she later died from her injuries.
The coroner's office identified the woman as 45-year-old Tracy Harmon.
IMPD said officers detained a man at the scene, who was described as a person of interest in the shooting. In a later update, police said a 61-year-old man had been arrested on a preliminary murder charge.

"It is believed an argument occurred prior to this shooting incident," IMPD said in a statement Oct. 24.
According to court documents, responding officers said they located the suspect passed out in the driver's seat of the car, with Harmon in the passenger side. When the suspect exited the car, a gun was allegedly found on the floorboard where his feet were.
A witness told officers he had been with Harmon and the suspect prior to the shooting, and that the two had been arguing. That witness, according to court documents, told police he saw the suspect pull a gun and begin pointing it at Harmon before they heard one shot.
