Coroner identifies man killed in far east Indianapolis double shooting

Police officers located two people shot in the 4000 block of Brentwood Drive Wednesday afternoon.

INDIANAPOLIS — One person was killed and another wounded in a shooting on the far east side of Indianapolis Wednesday.

IMPD officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 4000 block of Brentwood Drive, near East 42nd Street and North Post Road, shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday. They found two men who had apparently been shot. 

One of the victims died at the scene. The other was taken to an Indianapolis hospital, and IMPD later described him as "stable." 

On Dec. 22, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the man killed as 43-year-old Shon Hudson.

An IMPD spokesperson said detectives believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is not believed to be a threat to the public.
