INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD arrested a 22-year-old man for his alleged role in a deadly shooting on the west side of Indianapolis Monday night.
Officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 5700 block of West Ray Street, near West Washington Street and I-465, just before 9 p.m. Oct. 23. They arrived to find a victim suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
Police said the victim, identified as 24-year-old Lavoris Johnson, was later pronounced deceased.
"Prior to the shooting, a family disturbance occurred and at some point, shots were fired," IMPD said in a statement Oct. 24.
The man arrested was at the scene when officers arrived and was detained for questioning, before he was arrested on a preliminary murder charge.
