INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead Friday evening on the southeast side of Indianapolis.
The shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. Jan. 26 in the 3300 block of Spring Wind Lane, near South Franklin Road and Interstate 74.
Officers responded to a report of a person shot and arrived on scene to find a victim inside a parked car. The victim's injuries were consistent with gunshot wounds, IMPD said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 19-year-old Julius Kende Parker Jr.
Investigators believe a suspect fled in another vehicle. Officers are canvassing the area and looking for witnesses.
