An IMPD officer shot a suspect after he allegedly fired shots inside Bubbaz Bar & Grill Oct. 14, 2023.

According to court documents, the officer had his bodycam activated. It allegedly showed people start running after a man exited the building. Police said the bodycam shows the suspect with a black object in his right hand, and the suspect starts to raise that hand. That's when bodycam video shows the officer firing his gun at the suspect.

Police claim the gun the suspect had fell to the ground and another person picked it up and walked off with it.

According to IMPD, a man inside the bar who was shot took himself to a hospital in critical condition. Police also said the suspect who was shot was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Another woman was found somewhere else but said she was injured in this shooting. Her condition is said to be stable.

No officers or other uninvolved people were injured in the shooting.

This is an ongoing investigation, and IMPD said there is no danger to the community.
