Caley M. Gootee, 22, of Noblesville, was charged with eight felony counts for allegedly shooting a 42-year-old man on the evening of April 15.

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — A Noblesville woman is facing multiple felony charges after a road rage incident escalated into a shooting Monday evening.

According to a release from the Noblesville Police Department, around 9:15 p.m. on April 15, officers responded to the 1200 block of Brady Lane, near Boden Road and Greenfield Avenue, on reports of a disturbance and shots fired.

Officers arrived and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, as well as a woman who appeared, according to officers, to be the shooter.

The victim, identified as a 42-year-old man from Noblesville, was treated at the scene before being transported to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the incident allegedly continued into a neighborhood (1200 block of Brady Lane) where the two vehicles came to a stop. Police say that is when Gootee allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim and fired one shot, striking him in the shoulder.

Gootee was taken to the Hamilton County Jail and charged with eight felony counts:

  • One count of aggravated battery when the assault poses a substantial risk of death
  • Two counts of battery by means of a deadly weapon
