No injuries after woman shoots at moving car with 2 children inside

IMPD says a female suspect was arrested and preliminarily charged with aggravated assault, criminal recklessness, and shooting a firearm where people are present.

INDIANAPOLIS — A woman has been arrested after police say she allegedly fired a shot at a moving car with children inside.

In a public police report released from Indianapolis Metropolitan Police, officers responded to the area of 38th Street and N. Post Road shortly after 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 17 on a report of shots fired in the area. 

When officers arrived, they located a vehicle with one of its windows shot out. Police said there were two children in the car at the time of the shooting and that no one was injured. The female suspect was apprehended and faces preliminary charges of aggravated assault, criminal recklessness, and shooting a firearm where people are present. 

Several witnesses in the area assisted IMPD with the investigation. Police say only a single shot was fired during the incident.
