1 in critical condition after shooting on Indy's near northwest side

The shooting happened around 2:20 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Dr. M.L.K. Jr. and East 29th streets.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating a shooting that happened on the near northwest side of Indianapolis early Monday morning.

Just before 2:30 a.m. June 3, officers responded a report of the shooting in the 2900 block of Dr. M.L.K. Jr. Street, near East 29th Street.

When officers arrived, they found a person who was shot and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Police have not shared any additional information on the circumstances of the shooting, including a possible suspect or motive.
