Police investigating 3 people found dead in Muncie home as possible murder-suicide

The Delaware County coroner said a 32-year-old man, 45-year-old woman and 76-year-old man were found dead in the home Nov. 3.

MUNCIE, Ind. — Police in Muncie and the Delaware County Coroner's Office are investigating after three people were found dead in a home in November.

According to the Muncie Police Department, shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 3, a person called and said they had gone to the home in the 500 block of South Rambler Road, near West River Road and 300 West, to check on a person whom no one had been able to contact for some time.

The caller said they found an unresponsive woman down in the attached garage. Officers arrived at the home and found the woman to be dead.

Officials said they then found two adult men in the house who were also dead. The coroner identified the victims as 32-year-old Kevin Humphrey, 45-year-old Sarah Barnes and 76-year-old Douglas Starr. The Delaware County coroner confirmed to 13News that Starr was Barnes' father.

Muncie police said there were no signs of forced entry into the residence, and there is no current threat to the community. The coroner's office later told 13News the incident appears to be a murder-suicide.
