MUNCIE, Ind. — A 36-year-old Muncie man is facing felony charges after allegedly telling police he's "addicted" to child porn when he was arrested again after previously being convicted of possession of child pornography.

According to recently filed court documents, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office was made aware on May 6 of a person allegedly in possession of child pornography on their phone.

The person who called police was reportedly driving a 36-year-old man to donate plasma. The 36-year-old man allegedly left his phone behind after the two returned home, and when the person who drove him opened it to look for a photo, they reportedly saw a naked image of a child on the phone.

Police responded to the home to retrieve the cellphone before applying for a search warrant. Court documents say the phone contained over 20 images of child pornography.

The 36-year-old man was previously convicted of possession of child pornography in January 2022, but was released from prison on July 29, 2023.

(NOTE: 13News does not name suspects in cases until formal charges are filed by prosecutors.)

Police arrested the man at his Muncie home and brought him to the Delaware County Justice Center. He allegedly admitted to police that he downloaded child pornography right after being released from prison in 2023. Court documents say he allegedly told police that he found child pornography "intriguing" and that he is "addicted" to it.

The man also allegedly admitted to police that he downloaded actual child pornography as well as drawings of children in suggestive situations, otherwise known as "Loli."

His bail is set at $50,000.
