MUNCIE, Ind. — A jury in Delaware County convicted a Muncie man for a 2021 murder Friday.
Brandon Hodge, 31, was found guilty of shooting Robert E. Scott III in the backyard of a home in the 2200 block of West 9th Street on Feb. 28, 2021. Scott died a short time later at Ball Memorial Hospital.

Hodge and Morgan Bell were arrested after the shooting. In addition to a murder charge, Hodge was also convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and obstruction of justice.
In all, he could be sentence to a maximum of more than 107 years in prison for those crimes. He was also found by the jury to be eligible for the Indiana firearms sentencing enhancement, which can add an additional five to 20 years to Hodge's sentence.
Bell was convicted of aiding, inducing or causing another person to commit murder and obstruction of justice in May of this year.
