Motorcyclist killed after east Indianapolis hit-and-run crash

INDIANAPOLIS — A motorcyclist has died after a hit-and-run crash on Indy's east side Sunday evening.

According to a release from IMPD, just after 8 p.m. on Dec. 15, officers responded to the intersection of East 16th Street and North Post Road on a report of a personal injury accident. During the investigation, officers learned that a vehicle and a motorcycle had crashed.

The driver of the vehicle was not on scene when officers arrived. IEMS transported the motorcyclist to an area hospital in critical condition. However, police say the motorcyclist succumbed to their injuries shortly after arrival at the hospital. 

IMPD detectives are investigating the incident as a hit-and-run crash. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
