MARION, Indiana — A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing another man to death at a Marion apartment complex Sunday and attempting to light the victim on fire.
The incident happened May 5 in the 900 block of North Park Avenue, near North Baldwin Avenue and West Kem Road.
Responding officers were told a neighbor reported blood on the outside of a partially-opened apartment window, and found blood in a courtyard.
In the apartment, police found 28-year-old Jeffrey Hicks dead on the kitchen floor. A preliminary investigation indicated he had been stabbed multiple times and the suspect attempted to light him on fire, the Marion Police Department said in a statement.
Video surveillance from the apartment complex showed another tenant left the victim's apartment. That tenant, a man, was taken into custody for questioning and arrested on preliminary charges of murder, arson, abuse of a corpse and burglary.
