Grant County man arrested, facing sex trafficking charges

Police say it took a "multi-agency collaborative investigation" in order to help the victim and bring the 60-year-old man to justice.

MARION, Ind. — A Grant County man is facing sex trafficking charges after a "complex" investigation by police led to his arrest.

According to a release from the Grant County Sheriff's Office, a 60-year-old Marion man was arrested on charges of promotion of sexual human trafficking, conspiracy to commit human trafficking and intimidation.

Police say the female victim met the man online, then in person in Kentucky, before she was brought from Kansas to Indiana. The victim reportedly lived in the residence of the man, but the release did not state for how long.

The investigation reportedly began in 2023 after police received complaints and concerns regarding the victim's welfare. The case was called "complex" by police and reportedly involved Homeland Security, Grant County Prosecutor Scott Hunt, Victim Advocates and mental health professionals.

Police say it took a "multi-agency collaborative investigation" in order to help the victim and bring the 60-year-old man into custody.
