INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A Marion County deputy prosecutor is facing charges including criminal confinement and strangulation.
Jeremy Johnson is facing felony charges of criminal confinement with bodily injury, strangulation and domestic battery committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years old, as well as a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.
He was released from the Marion County Jail on a $25,000 bond. His initial court appearance is scheduled for Thursday morning.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office said in a release they have requested a special prosecutor from Bedford to review the investigation and make a final charging determination.
Judge Mark Stoner recused the entire Marion County Superior Court system from the case. Judge Stoner awaits word on which county court the case will be relocated to.
The Prosecutor's Office says Johnson resigned his position Wednesday prior to his arrest.
