BEECH GROVE, Ind. — Antwan Palmer, 36, has been charged with murder for his alleged role in a shooting in Beech Grove on Saturday, June 24.
Around 12:45 p.m., Beech Grove Police Department officers responded to the 2400 block of Bischoff Drive, near North 25th and East Troy avenues, for a report of a person shot.
Police located a man who had apparently been shot. On Monday, June 26, the Marion County Coroner's Office confirmed the victim, 29-year-old Bryton Paul Wilmot, died as a result of the shooting.
According to court documents, multiple witnesses told police they saw Wilmot and another man, later identified as Palmer, arguing outside of an apartment. The witnesses all said they heard gunshots, saw Wilmot fall to the ground and Palmer run from the scene.
Later that evening, police said they took Palmer into custody after he was seen at a nearby gas station.
