Man seriously injured in stabbing at Anderson gas station; 2 suspects arrested

The incident was reported around 5 p.m. Tuesday near Meridian and West 19th streets.

ANDERSON, Indiana — Police in Anderson are investigating after a man was seriously injured in a stabbing at a gas station Tuesday afternoon.

The incident was reported around 5 p.m. May 7 at the Marathon gas station in the 1800 block of Meridian Street, near West 19th Street. Responding officers located the victim, a 36-year-old man, sitting in a car near the intersection of West 19th and Jackson streets. 

The man was taken to an Indianapolis hospital in serious condition, police said.

A preliminary investigation shows that the victim pulled into the parking lot of the gas station followed by a driver in a white SUV. The suspect approached the victim with a gun and knife and stabbed the victim multiple times. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

Police identified two suspects, a 29-year-old and 22-year-old man. Police arrested both suspects at a home in Daleville.

The Madison County Prosecutor's Office will make the final charging decisions.
