Police told 13News a man walked into a restaurant near West 10th Street and I-465 and said he had been shot on the interstate.

INDIANAPOLIS — Witnesses say at least three cars were shot at on Interstate 465 Thursday night, reportedly wounding at least one person.

The shooting reportedly happened around 8:30 p.m. May 30 on the west side of Indianapolis. State police responded to the scene, where two cars sat on the side of the exit ramp to Rockville Road

Two men who were in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express next to the exit told 13News they heard gunfire and looked up. They said a semi-truck skidded to a stop and two other vehicles came off the exit ramp, one with a window that had been shot out.

"There was a fella in a Jeep that stopped by and witnessed it, and when he got out, I asked him what was all the commotion, what was all that noise, and he explained somebody was hanging out a window out of a vehicle shooting at the other cars on the road," witness Chad Patrick said.

Marissa Tremblay said she had just picked her family up from the airport and was heading home when the shooting started.

"We heard this loud sound. Didn’t know what it was and then saw our back windshield was shattered. And then, we heard a lot more gunshots, and it made a lot more sense, so we pulled over obviously, and we’ve been here for a few hours," Tremblay said.

The driver of one of the other cars that was shot drove to a Penn Station restaurant near West 10th Street and I-465. According to IMPD, the man walked into the restaurant and said he'd been shot. Police said a family member drove him to Eskenazi Hospital, but his condition is not known.
