INDIANAPOLIS — Beech Grove and Indianapolis police officers are searching for a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run Saturday evening.
Around 9:40 p.m. on May 11, Beech Grove Police Department officers responded to the intersection of South 9th Avenue and Roderick Court on a report of a person injured in a hit-and-run crash, according to IMPD.
Officers arrived and found a male pedestrian with trauma at the scene. The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
On May 13, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the man as 47-year-old Shanon Scott Daugherty.
IMPD's crash detectives are investigating the incident.
