INDIANAPOLIS — Jhabriel Munoz was convicted of murder for the July 2021 deadly stabbing of Tiffany Gough.
IMPD officers had been called to the Lake Castleton Apartments at 75th Street and Shadeland Avenue just before 9:30 p.m. on a report of a person stabbed.
When officers arrived, they approached the back of the apartment and saw blood on the patio blinds and interior walls. The patio door was also open.
Officers looked into the apartment and saw Munoz inside. He was standing at the front door looking through the peephole, where other officers were attempting to make contact.
IMPD said officers entered the apartment by going through the open patio door and saw Munoz was holding a knife. They announced themselves and ordered Munoz to drop the knife. When he dropped it, officers told Munoz to get on the ground and then arrested him.
Inside the apartment, officers found 53-year-old Tiffany Gough stabbed to death.
“Ms. Gough’s life was tragically taken in a heinous act of violence by the defendant,” said Prosecutor Ryan Mears. “We hope that her loved ones find solace in today’s verdict, knowing that justice will be served.”
A sentencing hearing for Munoz has not yet been set.
