Man charged with murder in Kokomo killing, kidnapping case

A Kokomo man is charged with murder in a homicide and kidnapping investigation from February.

KOKOMO, Ind. (WTHR) — A Kokomo man is now charged with murder in a homicide and kidnapping investigation from February.

30-year-old Uriah M. Levy is now facing a murder charge. He had been held on felony criminal confinement and aggravated battery charges.

Lashay R. Young-Beard, 25, was found shot to death in the backyard of a home on South Cortland Avenue Monday, Feb. 3. As police were responding to the incident, they found a 24-year-old man tied up in a bathtub in the home.

He told police he had been held there for 11 days and had been beaten and burned with hot water.

Along with Levy, police arrested 31-year-old Troy Lamar Wilson for felony criminal confinement and aggravated battery and 28-year-old Steven B. Allen.

Allen is facing a felony charge for aiding, inducing or causing criminal confinement.
